The Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) has received funding of over £400,000 from the UK Government to set up the Seaweed Academy which will support the UK’s blue economy.
Based right next to Oceanium at the European Marine Science Park in Oban, Scotland, the Seaweed Academy will be training kelpers, supporting start-ups and expanding education and research on seaweed and its role in mitigating climate change.
