OCEANIUM has been selected as a top three finalist for the newly launched Thai Union Innovation Challenge alongside two other fantastic innovators, 350 PPM and Ingrediome, aiming to find breakthrough solutions to support food security.
Thai Union, a global leader within the seafood industry, launched the Thai Union Innovation Challenge to identify start-ups developing ocean-derived, novel ingredients and applications.
The challenge winner will receive invaluable support and guidance from Thai Union’s Global Innovation team, benefitting from the company’s 50 years of seafood expertise and innovation to make a positive impact in the realm of diet and nutrition.
Chris Aurand, Open innovation Leader at Thai Union said:
“We received a diverse pool of applicants, with solutions spanning across the seafood value chain from aquaculture to seaweed and algae derived ingredients to final products. Selecting three finalists that align with our ingredient and sustainability goals, was an inspiring and insightful exercise as it highlighted what entrepreneurs view as opportunities in the industry.”
OCEANIUM uses proprietary technology to produce food ingredients, OCEAN HEALTH® Fiber and OCEAN HEALTH® Protein, and high-purity, natural bioactives, OCEAN ACTIVES® Fucoidan and OCEAN ACTIVES® Beta-Glucan from sustainably farmed seaweed to meet global demand for sustainable ingredients, ensure food security and improve ocean health.
We’re looking forward to pitching live on stage at the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit in Singapore at the end of October, so please get in touch with the team if you’ll be attending!
