As part of its COP26 coverage, Sky News visited Oceanium’s labs to speak to CTO Dr Charlie Bavington about the amazing possibilities of seaweed for food and nutraceuticals products, as well as bio-plastics that can help to turn the tide on consumption of carbon intensive packaging and materials.
We still have a lot to learn about seaweed which has already ‘solved a lot of chemical and physical problems to survive’ in tough environments! That’s why we were so proud to feature alongside Shore Seaweed and the Scottish Association for Marine Science, showcasing the incredible depth of experience in western Scotland and the passion to develop a sustainable seaweed industry for people health and planet health.
